We are pleased to announce that Japan Arts will be supporting the musical activities of soprano Kanna Ogawa as a Management Collaboration artist.
Kanna Ogawa was born in Oyama, Tochigi Prefecture. She graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts and completed the master’s program in opera at that university’s graduate school. From 2020 she studied for two years in Milan, Italy, under the Agency for Cultural Affairs’ Overseas Study Program for Upcoming Artists. She has won top prizes in 11 competitions, including the 1st Prize and Audience Award in the voice division of the 22nd Tokyo Music Competition, and was awarded the 2nd Prize and Audience Award in the 88th Music Competition of Japan. Kanna Ogawa’s opera roles include the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s “The Magic Flute,” Liù in Puccini’s “Turandot,” and Glauce in Cherubini’s “Medea.” She has appeared as a soloist with orchestras in performances of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony and other concerts. Her wide-ranging activities also include contributing the soprano solo on the soundtrack of the TBS television drama VIVANT.
